What we had programmed and designed as a multidisciplinary biomedical research building opened in October as the Integrative Biosciences Center (iBio) of the School of Medicine at Wayne State University in Detroit.
We are especially proud of the building because it is seen as a new typology for research facilities and supports an emerging revolution in the way research and development is performed. Combining pure research, computational research, social research and applications development, the people working in this facility will uncover the causes and develop solutions to critical problems in the region.
The facility is designed to activate team science around theme problems like obesity and cardiovascular disease. The president of the university said that "This building will have a tremendous impact on the University, city, and region!"
